Three days in Imlil

Everything happens at Village Wawgant, in the centre of Imlil: bibs, starts, finishes, podiums and meals.

      Two Valleys sets off from the street in Imlil. You have ten hours to get back.

      The Goat Trail climbs to the ridges. The 10K follows at 09:00.

      Every runner gets a full meal in the village. Then we say see you next year.

Run by the valley

The Association Tougr Ikaln for mountain sports and local development runs the race, with the Tougr Ikaln cooperative for mountain tourism. The aim: to make the area and its heritage known.

At the aid stations

Still and sparkling water, tea, coffee, dates, bananas, oranges, chocolate, and hot soup depending on when you pass. Zero plastic: no disposable cups, so bring your own, with a bowl and cutlery.

The courses cross the Amazigh villages of the valley, from Aroumd to Tamatert. Conviviality, authenticity, humility, solidarity: these are the values of the race.

Imlil ⵉⵎⵍⵉⵍ Toubkal 4,167 m

Imlil sits at 1,740 m, 60 km from Marrakech. The summit of Toubkal, 4,167 m, is 8 km to the south.

Before the start

  • Village Wawgant, centre of Imlil, Toubkal National Park.
  • Bib pick-up: Friday 11 June from 16:00 to 21:00 (42K, 21K), Saturday 12 June from 16:00 to 20:00 (21K, 10K).
  • Photo ID and a medical certificate less than a year old are required at pick-up.
Who can enter?

Anyone aged 18 or over on race day, licensed or not, with a medical certificate stating no contraindication to competitive trail running, dated within the last year, sent to contact@wawganttrail.ma. The 21K, 42K and Summit also require a trail race record or ITRA points; the Summit requires a valid ITRA index. No certificate, no bib, and no exceptions on race day.

What kit is mandatory?

At least 1 litre of water, an emergency blanket, a whistle, a waterproof and windproof jacket, a charged phone with the emergency number saved, a cap or buff, your own cup, a bowl and cutlery, photo ID. One headlamp for the 21K, two for the 42K and the Summit. Kit is checked before the start.

How do ITRA points work?

The 21K and 42K are qualifying races. Results go to ITRA within 48 hours: create your account at itra.run before the race, and the points reach your profile within one to two weeks. In 2026 it was about 1 point for the 21K, 3 for the 42K and 2 for the Summit; ITRA sets the exact number.

How do I pay from abroad?

Registration is online only, on SportEvents: Moroccan or international bank card, or transfer in dirhams. No registration on site. Groups of 20 or more get an automatic discount.

Can I cancel or transfer my entry?

Yes, by email to contact@wawganttrail.ma, at least 30 days before the event, with a fee of 150 MAD. After that date, no cancellation and no refund.

What does the entry include?

The t-shirt and finisher medal, aid stations, medical assistance along the whole course, individual accident insurance, entertainment in the village and the post-race meal.
